I'm forwarding this to the GCC in case there might be folks who are
interested in voicing an opinion on the proposed connection between
Millhopper and 39th avenue. Below is an email from David Flagg
suggesting that a greater impact on the commission might be made by
those who do not live on Millhopper, but use it for recreation.
Please
consider writing if you feel that the cut-through will negatively
impact your cycling. "Suggestion......if you have friends who
reside away from
Millhopper Road but who want to keep it as Scenic and special, ask them
to write a letter to the Gainesville Sun, stating their desire for
NOT having the cut thru allowed, but rather modified having the
Northern portion as a Greenway. (Less expensive to
construct than a
paved two lane road ). We should try to get people other than we
who would be immediately effected by the cut thru to protest the
proposed cut thru by contacting County Commissioners and such letters
to the Sun....

Fuller, Editorial Cartoonist. Keep the letters relatively brief,
respectful....seeking public influence and County Commission
action to
protect the unique Millhopper Rd. safe and available for all,
