For nearly 20 years, the Gainesville Cycling Club has contributed to
the annual "Christmas Bike Program" in which the Gainesville Police
Department gives bikes to underprivledged children in the public
schools.
This year the Gainsville Cycling Club can contribute in two
ways:
1) Collect children's size bikes for the program. In
particular, bikes with 20 inch wheels and bikes with 24 inch wheels are
needed. All bikes and bike parts are useful. If you are
at a yard sale and you see a good kid bike for a few dollars, consider
buying it as a donation.
2) Help us fix bikes for the Christmas program. This year,
Gainesville Cycing Club members can help fix kids bikes at "The
Kickstand" Chandler will be there on
Fridays, 3-6 p.m.
We are just starting this Friday, so don't bring any bikes for a week
or two. But please come visit or e-mail me with ideas and
suggestions.
If you
have questions, please E-mail me.
