The Wascally Wabbit has been in hibernation due to the high heat, and I know the “A’s” have been pleased that they didn’t have to chase us during the summer.  But We are Wack.

Our main purpose is (not to beat the A’s even thought we are currently 5-1 Tee Hee) to train hard, ride safely, learn how to draft, run a rotating pace line.  Basically do all the things that it takes to get you hardened up to ride with them.  We have had several graduates that have moved up and are doing very well on the A ride (congrats to KG, he is making the Wabbits Woud)

We will meet at the Chevron @ 5:45 pm on Tuesday evening.  Depart at EXACTLY AT 5:55 (A’s depart at 6:05)

Speed will be sub A pace, average overall pace is normally 20.5 to 22.1 MPH over the 39 miles course.

This is NOT a no drop ride, but we do look out for each other.  Once you start the course, you must ride the course, as at the end, if you aren’t back we will look for you.  Scotty E, we would have taken care of you and not made you walk 11 miles homeJ

We also observe all GCC rules, and helmets are required.

Hope to see you all out there.

Wascally Wabbit Doug

PS: We will be running all winter with the Tues/Thurs schedule; distance will vary from 38-50 miles.  This means that very shortly we will be riding with lights.  We learned the hard lessons last year that normal (fewer than 500 lumen) lights are not satisfactory with these speeds.  I suggest that if you would like to ride with us this winter, start looking now for lights in the 750 to 900+ lumens (I currently ride with 900 on my handle bars and 900 on my helmet).  I know that this seems like overkill but we have learned the hard way.  W when the roads are wet, and it’s a cloudy night, you need all the light you can find.
