OK, so here's the story:
I was driving to a friend's place last
night to work some kinks out of my bike before the races this weekend. I
was on NW 3rd avenue in the student ghetto not paying too much attention
and happened to notice a road bike locked up to a rack by the side of the
road in a parking lot for one of the appartment complexes back there. I'm
always keeping an eye out for pricey bikes so i looked a little closer and
immediately recognized it as lis's bike. I pulled over, called steve (her
husband) and he came over and took care of the rest. The bike was fully
intact, no scratches or anything. The guy even left the seatpack with the
CO2 and the new polar computer/HRM. Sometimes you get lucky.
Steve told me he had purchased renter's insurance the night before.
