I'm a new member and don't know many of you, but I can't resist the opportunity to brag just a little bit. I had the honor to attend the 2008 Induction Dinner for the US Bicycling Hall of Fame on November 2 in Davis, California. The keynote speaker was Levi Leipheimer and this year's inductees were Cheri Elliott, Jeanne Golay, Mike Plant and Jimmy Walthour. It was such a thrill to be in the company of so many cycling enthusiasts in a community so supportive of the sport. I met some of my heros and had the chance to touch some real Olympic metals. I even went to the California Bicycing Museum and learned about the six-day races that dominated the sport in the 1930s.
