Doug beat me to the punch. Thanks Jim & Meegan and especially to everyone who had faith that I would get back on the bike again after my disagreement with that dead dog!

Thanks to Rob for sitting in the drizzle & waiting for us at the last check point in front of his warm home. It was so nice to see his smiling face when we came over the hill!

BTW, Meegan's Vegetable soup was such a hit with the Randonnuers that we heard tale of it for over 100 miles from everyone we talked to! I just wish it was around when we finished. It would have been the perfect close to Jim's excellent adventure.

If you are thinking about joining us but just aren't sure sign up and go on some training rides with us. You can do it, we did! And you will not walk away feeling less than accomplished.

kind regards,
Jo

Subject: GCCMail: Gainesville 300K - what a wonderful ride

Hi all just wanted to once again say a special thank you to Jim and Meegan Wilson for putting on a wonderful event again yesterday.  I would like to suggest that they plan the weather a little better next time.  It has been a long time since I've had to have a snorkel and divers mask on a ride.  Of course I'm kidding about the planning, but not about the mask/snorkel....

I would also like to say that your GCC's very own Team Disturbed performed very well. Jo made sure we all had road gremlin bells, which worked great and kept the road gremlins at bay - no major mishaps or mechanicals!   I would like to give a special shout out to both Tom Dickenson and Jo Weaver.  These two soldiers rode basically the whole 300K by themselves, through the pouring rain.  When you see them on the road be sure to give them a "Thumbs UP!"  Even with just the two of them, they almost made it back before dark, quite a feat....

I hope that you all will come out and support Jim/Meegan when they run the 400K on March 5.  It is truly a wonderful event.
