SE Gainesville is the trail head of the GHT. If you need directions to
Boulware Springs, please e-mail me.

The Hokey Pokey group will leave at 10:00 sharp Sat. Jan. 1 for a 15 to 20 mile ride on the
rail-trail..
Chandler will be at Boulware trailhead from 8:45 until 10:00 to do
safety checks on bicycles, including pumping up tires and doing minor
ajustments. Those people wanting to ride with a group should
plan on the 9:00 and 10:00 rides. People who want to ride on
their own can start anytime, i will be glad to check your bike and make
sure your tires have proper air.
Since it it hard to get lost on the GHT, people may want to ride on
their own. Bring a cell phone to call me (Chandler ) if you need
mechanical assistance while riding on the trail.
The group will ride on the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail, which is a
paved bicycle trail with no cars. This ride is excellent for families
with children or riders who wish to avoid automobile traffic.
The group will go as far (or as short) as our slowest rider (which is
ME!). Generally we ride to Rochelle (halfway point on the Trail) and
back for a total distance of 15 miles. We could also explore
the connector-trail that goes into downtown Gainesville.
Everyone is welcome is come on this ride (of course, you must wear a
bike helmet). Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me
and we never leave anyone behind.
The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the
back of the group to make sure no one gets lost. The ride leader is
also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other
mechanical problems. If you
have questions, please E-mail me. Chandler Otis Chanbike@xxxxxxx
