The Saddle Tramps
will ride Sunday November 6th,
from the Springhill Commons Publix on NW
39th
Street. We will ride west on NW 39th to
CR241,
which we will take north to NW 78th Ave, which we will take west to Hwy
27/41,
then go south to Newberry and the rest stop. We will resume going
east on
W Newberry Road to SW 202nd St which we will take north to NW 46th Ave,
which we
will take east and follow it south as it turns into NW 32nd Ave and then
goes
east to CR241 which we will take north back to NW 39th Ave, and turn east
on it
and take it back to the Springhill Commons Publix.
This is a ~33 mile ride with
mostly smooth roads and two significant hills on 39th Ave.
Restrooms
are available at the Publix and at the rest stop, a gas station/convenience
store in Newberry. Meet at 8:00AM for a
departure at 8:15AM, Eastern Standard Time (remember to move your
clock back 1 hour Saturday night when you go to bed, and get an extra
hour
of sleep) .
Expect level-ground pedaling speeds
between
13-16 mph, and an average speed of 13-15 mph on
this mostly flat and easy route. This is a no-drop friendly
ride; nobody needs to stress themselves to keep up with the
leader
or faster riders, because we will stop and wait for
everyone to regroup at each major
turn. Helmets are required,
suntan
lotion is recommended, as many parts of this ride are in sunny
open
areas.
The Springhill Commons Publix is
located
on the northwest side of town on NW 39th Ave just north of Santa
Fe
College, and near I-75. If you drive, please park on the southmost
