There will be a Honey Bees Ride departing from the NW Chevron on Saturday, August 9th.  This ride is geared towards people preparing for one of the ~50-60 mile rides during the Gainesville Cycling Festival Weekend.

The route will be the Forest Grove 34 Mile loop.  We may also elect to come back via 2054 to 156th to add an optional few miles based on group consensus.

We will depart with the Sweat Bees, but we will not stay with the Sweat Bees when they turn north on 235.  Really, we'd rather hang with Sweet Bees than Sweat Bees, but c'est liet vie, we'll take what we can get.  :-*

Bring some cash as there will be an optional stop in Alachua for those who need it.

About the Honey Bees: Speeds will be between 11 and 15 miles an hour, depending on the group and terrain.  However everyone willing to follow our ride protocol is welcome to join us.  Expect an average pace of around 12 miles per hour.

Ride protocol: We will regroup at ALL turns and we will stop and assist for any mechanicals.  While Honey Bees are great for couples looking to spend some quality time on a bicycle, you're welcome to show up by yourself for the ride.  Please make sure you bring equipment to change your own flats (a spare tube and pump).

And of course, helmets are required on all GCC rides.

Hope to see you there,

Ken & Sandy (the honey bees)
