The original intend has nothing to do with football games. The out of towners are not an issue either, because they e-mail me through our GCC web site, and I respond quickly as to where the rides are. We have visitors but few.

The reason we have the rotation is for people who work on weekends or have other engagements ( let's assume soccer coaches that coach on Saturday mornings). The rotation gives them the opportunity to still ride the Northern and the Southern routes on alternating Sundays.

My vote is to keep the rotation, and the synchronization with the Gliders.
People that do not have that extra-brain cell to figure out the rotations, I would prefer as well them not showing up for the rides, as they may mess up the rotation at 27 miles an hour too.

Subject: GCCMail: A Riders - Weekend A rides survey

Greetings A-Ride participants,

Several of the A-Ride regulars have discussed abolishing the weekend
rotation of rides and going to a fixed schedule. The proposed fixed
schedule is Saturday - South Ride, Sunday - North Ride.

Some reasons to Change: It is frustrating when out-of-town riders
visit us and have no clue in advance where a ride is meeting.
Additionally, when posting the ride emails, an extra brain cell must
be used to recall which direction the rotation is headed next :).
Gainesville is the only place I have lived where ride start locations
change each week. I believe the original intent was to avoid football
game traffic? From my experiences, the football game traffic has had
little to no bearing on the rides.

Some reasons to keep things as they are: Combining A-rides with the
Glider rides happens from time to time. Some people can only make
rides on one of the weekend days and like the variety.

** In the spirit of keeping things democratic, I have setup a simple
survey for A-rider types to take -
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K26CSRG **

I will keep the survey open for a couple of weeks and report the
results at a later time. Nothing is going to change at this time, I
am purely testing the waters.

If anyone has feedback, please relay it to me directly and not the
entire Listserv.

Regards,

Jayson
