Thanks Roger. I'm involved in setting up that race event and it is for a great cause and thanks for posting. With that said, the turn around point for the 15K event is right there where the creek runs out of Newnan's Lake ( the little pier is there and folks are fishing). From there to Hawthorne it's clear of runners for this event. Thanks again.

Hi all,

 

I just wanted to give the team a heads up about this Saturday, 12/11/2010.  The Florida Track Club is hosing a 5K and 15K run at the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail.  It's starting at the Boulware Springs and heading south on the trail.  I assume that the trail will be open and clear from Angle Rd south.  The race starts at 8AM (registration is earlier).  If any of y'all are interested in running it's for a good cause (Tyler's Hope).  Here's the Active.com link: http://www.active.com/running/gainesville-fl/season-of-hope-5k15k-2010.
