Dear Fellow Cyclist,

As you know, I’ve been doing PT at Balanced Body for 9 months to rebuild my functionality and get my life back! It’s been a wonderful experience to work with Bonnie Carr, Director, and other knowledgeable therapists. I may not be on a bike but, trust me, I’ve been doing the hardest ultra marathon event of my life over here – no draft, no tailwind, 10% inclines the whole way – you get the analogy???

I went to Balanced Body 9 months ago on a walker unable to walk, sit up or stand on my own power. This past weekend I went on my first solo get away vacation since my accident (one year anniversary coming up in 3 weeks).  drove to the airport on my own, handled my own luggage, stood in the security line by myself, walked up the stairs to the plane foot over foot, was able to sit in the seat, get up and walk down the stairs.

Where did I go???  THE GAPS!! Yeah, well I can’t ride them now but I can drive them. So I did my own pilgrimage to those wonderful roads that I loved so much. Gotta tell you, I was flooded with great memories. I’ll always count my rides, locally as otherwise, as some of the best life experiences I’ve ever had. It was hard on my heart not to have a bike with me but I gotta start somewhere; walking is GOOD!!

And so, with this as a background, I invite you to an extraordinary opportunity:

Bonnie is holding a GYROKINESIS class beginning this Saturday, 9/8 at 9:00. GRYOKINESIS is an advanced system of exercises that improves the body with movement in 4 planes of motion. It’s incredible! If you’ve done yoga or Pilates, you’ll definitely want to try this. Classes will be every Saturday at 9:00 at the Balanced Body facility off Tower Road, 108 NW 76th Drive, Suite A. The first class is free. September classes are $15. October classes move back up to the usual price of $25.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a master right here in our home town.

Yeah, I know it conflicts with the Saturday AM ride schedule. What the hell – you may need a recovery day……. Even if you don’t, give your body a break and see what this is about – you’re body will thank you for it and you’ll ride faster/better/longer.

Hope to see you there,

Vicki
