Autumn begins today. Good bye Summer of 2008. Please note: Tuesdays ride will depart at 5:45PM sharp. Weather permitting, this weeks schedule is as follows: Tuesday: ~1:30-1:40 ride time. Please remember, the sprint on 241 ends at Mebane Middle School, not past the stop sign in Alachua. There'll also be a KOM (maybe even a polka-dotted jersey) on top of Chestnut so you can tell your grand-kids how good of a climber you were back in the Fall of '08. You should bring lights to this ride as we may be finishing at sunset. Thursday: Tempo, ~1:15 ride time. This is a great ride for people looking for some intensity and speed work, but are not interested in going as hard as we do on Tuesdays. Route to be determined by committee. There may not be many people in attendance because of Six Gap this weekend. Time & Location: 5:45PM depart on Tuesday, 6:00PM depart on Thursday, NW Chevron. NORTHWEST RIDES (NW 53rd Ave and NW 43rd St) <http://www.gccfla.org/ridelocnw.html> RIDE DESCRIPTION The Tuesday ride usually ends up being pretty fast with speeds hovering around 25 mph for most of the ride with sprints exceeding 30 mph at times. While there is a "speed limit" for most of the ride, the last 8 miles are open. The Thursday ride is more sociable, with speeds hovering in the
23-24 range and a few sprints. We do NOT wait for those that get dropped, unless there is a
mechanical reason. Please be familiar with the NW part of Gainesville. As always, a helmet is required on all GCC rides. Thanks, Ken
