On Sunday Nov.13,  Strays will ride from the dirt lot at Boulware Springs for a 32 -33 mile ride on Kincaid Rd to the western edge of Newnans Lake and then clockwise around the lake, passing thru Windsor and Rochelle and returning to Boulware via the GH Trail. We may also visit Owens Illinios park if the group is interested.  This is one of my all time personal favorite rides as it offers a good variety of scenery and shade, on lightly trafficed roads, with an excellent rest stop and a care free finish. Easily bored by the same rides over and over again, I tend to do it whenever enough time has passed to make it fresh again. That time is now.

 

Arrive at 9 am for a 9:17 start. If you can't be on time, be early.

 

Speeds 6 - 28 mph, depending on terrain. Average speed has typically been 14 mph in recent times. This ride is flat, other than a few hills at the beginning on Kincaid Rd., so you may expect the average will be 14.

 

There will be an official convenience store / rest room stop at Tims Fast Nickel at about the 20 mile point. Other opportunites can occur if necessary. Strays typically stop at all turns to make sure that all on the ride make the turn, then head out on the ride again.

 

Strays seem to be compelled to take pictures on our rides, so if you have a camera and want to bring it along, please do so. Sometimes the scenery dictates that a pair of binoculars may also prove useful, so bring them if you are so inclined.
