To All HighBees:

I just checked The Weather Channel for an update on tomorrow’s temps. It is supposed to be 50 at noon and 56 by 3:00pm. Based on the forecasted temp, please let me know if you are planning to ride Saturday. The ride posting is below. Also, if the group wants to, due to cold temps, we can make the mileage shorter on the same general route and make it around 30 miles. Please let me know if you are going to ride and your preference for mileage.

Thanks,

Mike

Special Note Concerning Future High Bee Rides Posted By Me

In an effort to keep to everyone happy about High Bees rides posted by me, kindly understand that those riding with us rightfully expect that the rides will be maintained at a 16 mph pace.  Therefore, in all of my future online GCC ride postings, please expect to see this reminder.  Further, I will ask those present before the ride starts if they anticipate riding in excess of the 16 mph pace.  For those that do, kindly plan to leave just before the main group does.  Those of us remaining will start and maintain our ride at the posted 16 mph pace.  Thank you for your understanding.

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, January 17th

Time: 11:45 am meeting, 12:00 pm departure (Time is subject to change based on the weather. It is supposed to be one of the coldest days of the year with early morning temps in the high 20’s, so waiting until noon seems like a good idea with the high for the day being around 57) If the weather predication changes later in the week, I might post a revision to the ride time, but it is unlikely. Other than the cool temps it is supposed to be a beautiful day.

Meeting Place: Chevron Station, on the corner of NW 43rd St and NW 53rd Ave.

Route and Mileage: We will do the Newberry Ride this Saturday, going out Millhopper Road to 241 left and over Chestnut Hill and on to US 27/41 and down to Newberry. There will be a rest stop in Newberry and the whole ride is about 44 miles.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16 MPH; a little faster based on terrain and slower on climbs. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Thanks,

Mike
