Horrible Hundred is coming up soon in Clermont
Tentative plans for this coming weekend for Strays includes one or two hilly rides. Currently I am leaning towards Saturday to lead a 30 mile ride to include Sugarloaf. However depending on who else lets me know they plan to go, and what their preference is (Sugarloaf either on Sat or Sun), I could be swayed to make it Sunday.
If you want to do Sugarloaf and have a preference for the day, or if you plan to go on either day regardless, RSVP me by Thur morning. I will announce the final details, start time and place on Thursday night. Assuming decent weather of course.
This is not a ride for As or fast people, you will just be bored or annoyed by our pace unless you can ride mellow..
If you are a Tour paced rider (11 - 14 mph average), and are a proponent of safe riding, you should come out and give Sugarloaf a try. If I can climb Sugarloaf, you can most likely climb Sugarloaf !! Some who have come to ride with us in the past did not manage to make it to the top without walking, but the vast majority do. And even if you don't manage to get to the top without walking, the ride is scenic and unique to the Clermont area, the vistas spectacular. If it weren't such a great fun ride, I wouldn't be doing it. Lots of hills though.
Post ride those interested in a meal before returning to Gainesville can join us at the Italian place we enjoyed last time we did the ride.
Whichever day we don't ride in Clermont, we will probably do a hill ride in the McIntosh area, to include the opportunity to do Dungarvin as much as any masochistic hill climber could love.
The usual Strays safety protocols will be in effect.
