Pink Ribbon Jerseys and Gloves
Barb Thomas is putting together a 7th jersey order, so if you need a new one (it's been nearly four years since the 1st order), or matching gloves, or know of anyone who might be interested, please contact me, or foward this email.
All proceeds go to the CSCRB (Collaboration of Scientists for Critical Research in Biomedicine), a nonprofit founded by research scientists at U.F. and which is using the donations to help fund research into triple negative breast cancer, an aggressive and poorly understood subtype of breast cancer.  It accounts for ~25% of breast cancer deaths. Please go to their website for more information, as well as to see some photos of the jersey:  www.cscrb.org  or www.pinkribbonjersey.com (and of course the GCC website).

The order will be placed on April 4th,  so that the man whose email is included below may have his in time to wear in a double century in Michigan in early June.  He saw the jersey on the CSCRB website, and decided he wanted to wear it in her honor:

"My well loved sister in law passed away on 2/16/2011 from triple negative breast cancer.  She had it for only a year, ironically six months ago, she was w/o cancer.  Two months later it metastasized in her neck and liver.  We were shocked on 2/15 when I received the call to rush my family and in laws to say goodbye as her liver shut down.  She didn't want us to worry, so we didn't know she had this type of breast cancer.  We made record time traveling from Gaylord, MI to Ft Wayne IN and were able to say goodbye.  She actually consoled us and helped us deal with the tragedy and strengthened our faith.   I was googling about triple negative and saw the race*.  I wish I lived a little closer because I definitely would do the run.
I want to use it at The MichiganMountain Mayem on 6/11, a double century with proceeds to breast cancer research.  I will spread the word about CSCRB to my family. Thanks again; the jersey will bring joy to our family."

*The race he refers to is the "NuNu 5k" fundraising walk/run being held on the U.F. campus on April 2nd.  For more information or to register, please go to their website.  And if you have one of the pink ribbon jerseys already, please wear it to show your support of the CSCRB.  I will be there with jerseys on display, to take orders.

short sleeved men's and women's jerseys  $65
sleeveless women's  $60
gloves $24
If you want any additional information at all, such as how this pink ribbon jersey project came to be, or about sizing (they run small), etc. please contact me by phone or via    bnbbarb@xxxxxxx  (not at the yahoo address).  I must collect all checks before placing the order on April 4th, and once I do that, it takes about 7 weeks to receive the jerseys.  At that time I will contact you to let you know they are here.  If you need to have your jersey mailed to you, please add $5 for shipping.  Checks are made out to Barb Thomas.
Raleigh, owner of Chain Reaction bike shop, also carries the jerseys.
I am very proud to be able to say that to date, a total of $2,720.47 has been donated to breast cancer research through your support of the jerseys.

thanks so much!
