Hello, all, My wife sez this is maybe tacky but I can't think of a better way to get a message to all the people I need to say thanks to...and do not always see...and am not sure when I will see you in the future. And, I truly hope I have not inadvertently left someone out of my list for saying thanks. So...a huge and heartfelt thank you to all of you who were part of this conspiracy...for the thoughts and efforts and time it took to pass around a great cycling card urging me on along my rehab road. The card humorously mentions exceeding the speed limit in my recovery...that is the one thing I want to do...but have tried hard not to do. A little bit each week has worked great and over time it has added up to some safe miles at ever increasing speeds. Now, Scott Erker guessed accurately on my size and all of you have put gentle pressure on me to continue to get better as in faster...wearing an Astana kit means bearing some responsibility. I can't be dragging ass up hills or getting dropped on a Sunrise ride. So, I will wear it on carefully chosen training rides where it looks like I'm not working too hard as I slowly get back to riding 50 non-stop miles. I'm up to 28 miles, 67 in a week, most of it ~17-18 mph, but some much faster when pulled by the Sunrise riders. There seems to be time to reach my goal by October...with one more cardio doc visit for final clearance to keep pushing onward for both distance and speed. I will wear that kit the day I go for 50 miles...I will be thinking of what all of you did for me during that ride...for all 2.5 hrs....if I can find a wheel to suck at 20 mph. Have I got a reason to be a wheel sucker or what? The kit will wear out...but what all of you did will be in my memory till I roll to the end of the last mile...many years from now. Thanks.
