To all attending the HighBee ride on Saturday,

After checking weather.com it seems that meeting at 9:45 and riding at 10:00 will be a good plan. We’ll meet in Micanopy as per the announcement below but with the exception of the slight time change.

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, December 4, 2010

Time: 10:00 am meeting, 10:15 am departure (NOTE: THIS IS A PROJECTED TIME FOR RIGHT NOW DUE TO THE COLD WEATHER FORCAST. ON FRIDAY, I WILL CHECK THE HOUR TO HOUR FORCAST FOR SATURDAY AND SEE IF IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE WARM ENOUGH TO START THE RIDE A LITTLE BIT EARLIER AND I WILL SEND OUT A FINAL ANNOUNCEMNT AS TO THE STARTING TIME)

Meeting Place: Micanopy, in downtown at the end of the street where we usually meet, just past the last antique shop.

Route and Mileage: We will ride out 234 to Shiloh and down to Flemington, turning west on 318 to Williston and stopping there for a break. We’ll head towards Gainesville on 121 and turn on Short Wacahoota Rd to return to Micanopy. The total ride is 40.3 miles as calculated by MapMyRide.com.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16-17 MPH. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.

Note: Any TweenBee or others that wish to join us are more than welcome. The ride this week is not as long as some weeks. If there are any riders who show up who wish to ride at a slower pace or feel that at some point during the ride they will do so, we’ll establish that at the beginning of the ride and someone in that group will be the ride leader and we won’t wait for your group when you fall back; but I’ll give my cell number to the ride leader for that group should assistance be needed for any reason.
