Many of you have asked for more
info regarding this ride. Even though this was not a GCC event, club
members were invited to participate. The announcement for this ride
was purposefully incomplete because the element of surprise was part of the
experience. It turned out to be a great 7 mile ride with about 25
cyclists. The ride was loosely based on the Amazing Race TV
show. Everyone got the location of the first clue at the start of the
ride. Which way to get there was left up to the
individual rider. Cyclists could go with a partner or go on their
own. The first clue would reveal the location of the second
clue, again, leaving the route to take, up to each rider. This process was
repeated until all 6 clues were collected. The first 2 people to
finish with all the clues, won a prize. It looked like all riders
used either a bike lane or a
sidewalk, & I didn't see anyone using the roadway or hindering any
traffic. This was one of the best & most interesting bike rides that
I've ever been on, & I was able to spread the good word about the
GCC.
Keep on cruising,
Dan
