The Hokey Pokey group will ride the roads of Union County on Saturday, August 20. Rides should meet at 8:15 for an 8:30 ride start.  Riders should meet in Providence at the Providence Village Baptist Church for a 17 to 23 mile ride (see directions below).

This ride is the northernmost section of the Santa Fe Century, and will go along some of the most quaint roads you will ever ride.  The ride will be on quiet farm roads, and will stop at a cemetery that has both a tragic story and two hilarious tombstones.  We will stop at the Nettles Sausage Factory in Watermelon Park (the site of GCC's northernmost rest stop on the Santa Fe Century).

Please RSVP to this e-mail (chanbike@xxxxxxx)  so we know how many riders to expect.

You can download a map of the ride from the GCC website.  Go to the menu on the right side of the website, click on maps and check out the Santa Fe Century map.  We will be riding the northernmost part, note "Providence" on SR 238.

Everyone is welcome to come on this ride (of course, you must wear a bike helmet).  Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me and we never leave anyone behind.

The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the back of the group to make sure no one gets lost.  The ride leader is also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other mechanical problems.
