Since I didn't see a return in the group mail on this
announcement sent out last night, here it is again, minus the usual
graphics
(since I'm guessing that is the source of the blockage).
RW
Saturday Mar 18, Strays will ride the Micanopy, McIntosh, Evinston,
Boardman areas for 28 - 30 miles, passing the River Styx
and
Orange Lake on the way, and stopping briefly to look at the Llamas and
sheep.
There may be quite a few wildflowers blooming in that area now,
given
what has been seen on recent rides in Gainesville.
Arrive downtown Micanopy at 9:45 am for a
10:00 departure.
Speeds 6 - 28 mph, depending on terrain.
Average
speed has typically been 13 mph in recent times.
This
ride is moderately hilly in parts.
There will be a convenience store / rest room stop at the
mid point in McIntosh.
No pacelines, no racing, no wheel sucking, just a fun social
ride.
Post ride the hungry will head for a restaurant, to be determined by
consensus. Probably Blue Highway.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides,
mirrors
recommended, headphones forbidden. If you haven't been on a ride with the Strays before,
please read this information on Safety
Protocols.:

To get to Micanopy from Gainesville:
Head south on 441 until you reach 234 (Angle

about 11 miles from the intersection of University and 441 in
Gainesville to Micanopy. (Turn right) on to 234 and proceed
for about half a mile. This will put you in Micanopy's downtown area.
There
is parking along the sides of the road leading in to Micanopy's
downtown and parking in the area in the median in the middle
of town.
