Alachua County Parks
and
Recreation would like to post some photos of cyclists using the 88th
ST/83rd ST
bicycle trail on their website. This trail is planned (by some) to become a
road
in the future, so any promotion of cycling could be advantageous. The plan
is to
meet and take some photos at the trailhead and then cycle a few loops,
with
additional photos being taken on the trail. This trail is unpaved, and is
suitable for mountain bikes. If you have a road bike, one idea would be to
cycle
to the trailhead, secure your bike, and then hike on the
trail.
When:
Sun
Feb 12th 1:00 P.M. (it should be warm by then).
Where:
Meet at the 88th ST trailhead, off Millhopper RD. There is limited parking
(for
about 5 cars). Other ideas for parking include the Chevron at 43rd/53rd
where
many Gainesville Cycling Club rides begin. From 43rd/53rd, you go about 3.5
miles west on Millhopper RD, turn left onto 88th ST, and go until the road
ends
at the trailhead.
Hope to see you
there!
Lee (and Tony)
Ross
P.S. Tony is planning
to
take the photos, but if there are others (Rob???) who would like to do
this,
that would be great.
