The Hokey Pokey group will ride the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail on
Saturday, Nov. 20. Riders should meet at the Boulware Springs
Trailhead at 9:00 for a 9:15 start.
If you need directions to Boulware Springs, please e-mail me.
The group will ride on the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail, which is a
paved bicycle trail with no cars. This ride is excellent for families
with children or riders who wish to avoid automobile traffic.
The group will go as far (or as short) as our slowest rider (which is
ME!). Generally we ride to Rochelle (halfway point on the Trail) and
back for a total distance of 15 miles. We could also explore
the connector-trail that goes into downtown Gainesville.
Everyone is welcome is come on this ride (of course, you must wear a
bike helmet). Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me
and we never leave anyone behind.
The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the
back of the group to make sure no one gets lost. The ride leader is
also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other
mechanical problems. If you
have questions, please E-mail me.
