Hi Kids,

Some of us are planning to join the 115 mile battle on Sunday,  January 22nd that is departing at 9AM from the Holiday Inn parking lot on NW 13th Street and University Ave.  The pace is a flat 19-20mph to the store stop (around mile 60) with several people to draft. However, some of us fully expect to get dropped at least in the second half of the ride. You can view the map here: http://www.mapmyride.com/s/routes/view/bike-ride-map/florida/gainesville/4963927

It is my understanding that once we pass the Lake City Airport, the pace picks up and the lead group treats the run back into Gainesville as a race. This is where people will start dropping like flies. There is no SAG Wagon this year the ride requires that you bring along plenty of water, food, tube, CO2 etc., but I am bringing a route sheet to figure out our way back home.

Unfortunately, James won't be able to join the ride this year as you may know. However, if you would still like to participate in this  "Committee to Avoid Responsibility" non-sanctioned event with no official organizers but, you are sure you will be dropped and don't want to ride in alone please let me know, I'll be your Lanterne Rouge. It won't be the same as with James but we can ride in together and sweep up those who hung in there longer than we did and form a second group to ride in together. Plus, if you like, you can attack at the sprint signs as well. I hear the final sprint sign is the green sign just before Devil's Millhopper State Park.
