In keeping with our Mission to prepare our
riders for big rides, the Saddle Tramps
Ride Group, under the guidance of our "Grand Motivator", Ed Gardner,
has devised a series of training rides to prepare for the Ride to Remember,
as well as longer tours upcoming for some of our members. Each ride
will have a long ride for those preparing for the 75 or 100 mile version of
the R2R, and a shorter ride option, for those whose intent is to ride
a 25 or a 50 mile ride, which is normal length for the Saddle Tramps.
The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors. We
will be sending out specifics as to start times and routes for each ride a
few days prior to each date.
Saturday April 23th
Starting from Flemington, first the Wild Horse
Loop and for
the intrepid, after a short lunch break (bring your own) at Flemington, the
Pristine Fields Loop for
a total of 50 miles. For the first loop only, the distance is 25
miles.
Wednesday April 27th Starting from
Boulward Springs, we will ride the R2R route to Flemington and return for
50 miles. The shorter ride would be to Micanopy via
the route and return to
Boulware for approximately 34 miles.
Saturday April
30th Starting at the GCC
May Day Picnic at Lake Wauberg, ride the R2R route to Flemington via
Dungarvin Road, ride parts of one of the loop
routes and
return to Wauberg for approximately 40 miles. The route will be
posted later and will allow enough time to return for the
picnic.
Wednesday May 4th
Starting from Flemington, do the Pristine Fields Loop first, then
the Wild Horse Loop after a short lunch break (bring your own) at
Flemington for a total of
50 miles. For the first loop only, the distance is 25
miles.
Sunday May 8th
Starting from
Micanopy to Flemington on 441, via Dungarvin
Road, do both loops and ride back to Micanopy via 234/329 for about 75
miles. For the shorter version, start
from Flemington and do both loops for 50 miles.
