Hi,

I rode the Santa Fe Century route on August 5 without a map since I have ridden it many times and always depended on the green arrows.  However, some of the roads have been repaved and a few of the green arrows were gone.  If you ride the route you may want to print a map from the GCC web site to carry and pay attention or you will ride extra miles, like I did.

Along the route there is a major road repair project where there is an excavation probably 25 feet wide and about 20 feet deep.  It is probably at about mile 60 or so.  I had to carry my bike down and up the construction area across the mud and water. Without a map I was not sure which way to go other than follow the route.  Again, take a map.  Best part was that mud hardened my cleats to my pedals and I could not unclip in Worthington Springs, much to the enjoyment of the locals who watched me fall at the stop sign.

I assume the repair work will be finished before the 2006 Santa Fe Century ride.
