Special Note Concerning Pace

In an effort to keep to everyone happy about High Bees rides posted by me, kindly understand that those riding with us rightfully expect that the rides will be maintained at a 16-17 mph pace.  Therefore, in all of my future online GCC ride postings, please expect to see this reminder.  Further, I will ask those present before the ride starts if they anticipate riding in excess of the 16-17 mph pace.  For those that do, kindly plan to leave just before the main group does.  Those of us remaining will start and maintain our ride at the posted 16-17 mph pace.  Thank you for your understanding.

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, October 25th

Time: 9:00am meeting, 9:15 departure. The plan is to get back in time to see the Gators vs. Kentucky on TV for those that are watching it on TV.  (Please note the change of starting time this week)

Meeting Place: Parking lot in front of Publix Shopping Center called Steeplechase on Newberry Road and CR 241 North (NW 143rd St) in Jonesville. Let’s park in the SW corner of the lot near the SunTrust Bank that is on the corner. That will keep us out of the busy part of the Publix parking lot. (Please note new starting place for this week’s ride)

Route and Mileage: We will do the Alachua Ride except that we will be starting from Jonesville and adding 10 miles to the ride by doing so. The total ride should be 37 miles.  We are doing a little shorter ride the week since the Gator’s are playing at 12:30pm.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16-17 MPH; a little faster based on terrain and slower on climbs. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Thanks,

Mike
