My pal Albert asked me to forward this invitation to CGG to come watch:
Le Tour de France Etape 9: Morzine-Avoriaz -> Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne 204.5 km

What: Come and watch Stage 9 of the Tour!
When: Tuesday, July 13th at 8:00pm
Where: Gator's Dockside on Newberry Road, 3842 West Newberry Rd Gainesville

Let's invade Gator's Dockside and force them to put the Tour on TV! Invite any of your co-workers or friends to join us. Stage 9 should be exciting as it is just after their first rest day and is the main Alpine stage.

Stage 9 is the biggest climbing stage in the Alps this year with 4 catagorized climbs already coming before the brutal HC climb up Col de la Madeleine.  It's almost a mile vertical climb over 25km for an average 6.2% grade!  As if that were not enough, the descent is a treacherous 18km with 40 turns/switchbacks!  Compare that to the famed Alpe d'Huez and it's 21 named bends and you can see the descent will be brutal as well.

Come watch and see if Lance Armstrong can keep up with the climbing machines that are Alberto Contador and the Schleck brothers (I wrote this before stage 8).   Can Bradley Wiggins, a surprise 4th last year and with the hopes of all England on his shoulders, keep up with the GC contenders?  Will hard man and this year's road racing world champion Cadel Evans have to push it solo with meager mountain support from his team?  Can Ivan Basso show the same form he had when he won the Giro d'Italia just over 6 weeks ago?  Will Carlos Sastre bounce back from his disasterous 2009 "defense" of his 2008 Tour de France over victory?  We may see the answers start to shape up in the results of stage 9!

Note: One possible complication is that it's the same day as MLB's All-Star game, so not sure they will put the audio up on the main speakers... if not maybe we can get the captioning turned on.  I tried watching part of stage 8 with the captioning and it is kinda fun/funny...  :-)

see you there!
