I am pleased to announce that construction will begin this week for the Clay County section of the “Palatka to Lake Butler State Trail”.  The construction extends from the (western) Putnam County line to the beginning point of the existing trail in Keystone Heights and from the end point of the existing trail in Keystone Heights to the (eastern) Bradford County line a distance of 5.2 miles.  Funded by Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation Enhancement (TE) funds, this project will be constructed as a twelve-foot wide asphalt multi-use trail.  DOT is administering the construction.  The Office of Greenways and Trails (OGT) will manage the trail.
