We did 562 packets last night for preregistered riders (outstanding job by our volunteers!)  This number is down noticeably from previous years, we suspect due to the economic situation.

We have only been able to field enough volunteers on Sunday at the Flemington and Lunch Aid Stops to man them at 75% of their desired strength.  If you’re not going for a PR, ask Diann Dimitri at Flemington and Gary Wheeler at Lunch if there is anything you can do to help out for half an hour or so.

There will not be a dedicated pace car this year.  We plan on having one of the SAG vehicles do pace car duty for the first 25 miles of each century, when we have the bigger packs still together.

A reminder to the fast riders on Sunday.  We have a new alternate ending to the Horse Farm Hundred that bypasses the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail.  In past years, we have had problems because the fast packs at the front have not wanted to slow down to safe speeds for the trail.  If you want to keep up 20+ mph speeds at the end of the Horse Farm, please use the alternate ending route.  (Stay on 234 past the trail to SR 20, follow the outbound route back in.)
