The annual meeting, membership drive, and celebration of the Friends of the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail (FrOGHaT) will be held next Saturday October 27.
The meeting and associated activities will take place at the Paynes Prairie Picnic Pavilion off US 441 at 100 Savannah Bvd., Micanopy. At 3 pm a guided off-road bicycle ride will depart from the Pavilion to explore the Chacala Trails. A cookout at 6 pm will be followed by the meeting. At 8 pm the Weeds of Eden will perform under the trees at the amphitheater on Lake Wauberg. Two canoes will be available all day for use on Lake Wauberg.
The activities are open to all present and prospective members of FrOGHaT. FrOGHaT is the support organization for the Gainesville to Hawthorne Trail State Park and supports trail projects and activities.
