On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Center's Turtle Court, (outside on the northwest corner of the building), at the monthly meeting of Historic Gainesville, Incorporated, Melinda Koken will give a short talk about her bicycle trip on the Natchez Trace Parkway. 
 
HGI was founded in 1972 as a means to keep the Thomas Center from being demolished at that time. 
 
The main speaker will be Charlie Hailey who has written the book, Campsite about the architecture of place.
