Hi, Sunrisers

1 - Jonathon is out of town...he already sent some mail that he will be not be posting a ride.

2 - Some folks must have mentioned to Jonathon that Saturday was a better morning for a ride.  He suggested to me posting a Saturday ride.

3 - The wind on Saturday will be 10-20 mph WSW.  Why ride a north route, just because that is what we always do, when in fact we will be riding back into the teeth of a stiff wind? Why not let nature help decide a new route?  Let's ride a north route when the weather is calm or better there is a North wind home.

4 - The Dungarvin route below takes you over the most challenging portion of the Ride 2 Remember...which is coming soon in May.  This is a good time to get familiar again with that portion of the route.

So, to reiterate a more specific version of my earlier mail:

-the 40 mile & 50 mile routes below start and stop at Le Store.

The sun will rise on Saturday ~708 am.  Temps will be mild at that time ~60-65 F.  By the time we finish they will be 75+ and heading up to over 80 F.

I suggest we meet Saturday at 730 am and pull out at 745 am sharp. On either route we will be done between 945 - 1015 am.  Since I ride to the start I plan to be home from either ride by 1030 am.

If you really want a challenging route, then it is the 40 mile route with Dungarvin Rd. We can do sprints at the county line signs as well as hill sprints and then have a finishing sprint in on 121 using the Hipp finishing line.  Warning: 121 is being repaved, depending on traffic, we may need to just ride in calmly and safely.  I rode it yesterday doing intervals and it was all fine...in fact new black top was superb.  But, there are still old sections of asphalt.

I'm game for either route. If anyone shows at Le Store at 730 am Saturday...come on along.  All Sunrise rules apply, regroup at turns after hill springs & after county line sprints, helmets required, be able to fix a mechanical, bring a cell phone, no planned store stops, we just ride.  Cruising speed is ~20 mph and we DO regroup and we DO stay together till the last 5 miles or so...then the fireworks start.

BTW: If anyone is planning a Sunday Sunrise...you need to post a ride.
