Wednesday--Advanced Developers Ride (Bike Works
Parking Lot, Tioga Town Center: David Bello, Ride Leader)
Meeting Time 5:00pmPre-Ride Briefing
5:10pm
Departure Time 5:15pm
Where:
Bike Works of Jonesville in Tioga Town Center
PLEASE NOTE THE RIDE TIME SCHEDULE ABOVE!
5:00 p.m. meet, 5:15 p.m. leave, for a ride that may last until
dark--25-30 miles (leave time will change during winter). Pace will
reach 19-21 mph average speed. THIS IS A NO DROP RIDE ONLY FOR
PUNCTURES/FLATS, MECHANICAL FAILURES AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS, but we will NOT be
waiting for riders who cannot maintain the ride pace. This is a
performance-oriented fitness/training ride that may include rotating
pace-lines, team time trials, intervals, and sprint lead-outs--after which
we will regroup at the pre-ride briefing's pre-determined points for a
steady ride. Junior (under age 17) riders are
encouraged if they will have a guardian that is familiar with the route and
can help bring them back to the bike shop to check in before heading home,
should they be unable to maintain the pace. Parents of juniors should
speak with the Ride Captain to indicate who will be their guardian on the
ride. Drop-bar road bikes only except by Captain’s
approval.
Expect a total ride
time of approximately 90-100 minutes from the departure
time.

below to see the route we will be following
regularly:
Route Description:
We will head west on Newberry Road directly into Newberry. When we reach
the Newberry bypass, we will follow that for about 1 mile until we reach SR
27/41 North where we will turn North (right) and follow the road up to the
blinking light intersection at CR232/NW 78th Ave where we will turn east
(right). We will follow across CR235 S and all the way to CR241 South we
will turn south) which leads into Jonesville. We will turn East (left) on
NW 2nd Lane (from this point on cooling down) behind the Jonesville Publix
and follow the normal developers route back to Bike Works of
Jonesville.
By showing up to the ride, you agree to abide by all of the rules
concerning pace, regrouping, and “no drop.” If you need
to ride in ahead of a flat or pull off for some reason, let the Ride
Captain know. All riders are strongly encouraged to have a rear red blinky
light and a front headlamp as this ride may be ending near dusk/dark. And
of course, ALL are required to wear a helmet at all
times.
Please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions regarding this
ride.
