Sunday,
March 19
MEET: At
Westside Park at the NE corner of
NW 34th
St and NW 8th
Ave.
PARK: In the
parking lot closest to NW 34 Street on the Northwest side of the parking
lot.
TIME: Meet
at 7:45
a.m., depart by 8:00 a.m. We plan on
returning
around 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
DETAILS: Ride
the Santa Fe Century route, 100
miles. Approximately 16+
mph
average speed.
-
So far we have six (6) riders and a SAG vehicle
(Eric
Sayers and kids have agreed to SAG the
route).
-
Since there is no money collected, please bring some
snacks and maybe some drinks to put in the SAG vehicle. We can all
share
what is collected or you can be stingy and have the SAGer keep your
private
stash private.
-
We plan on riding together as a group, and
regrouping at
intersections.
-
We have 3 bents and 3 road bikes and would welcome
anyone
who would like to ride. Please keep in mind you should be able to
ride
this distance and maintain an average speed of 16 mph, this mean we
will
be riding between 16-18 mph. We will not leave anyone behind;
however,
if you cannot stay together, you may have to stay with the group in the
SAG
vehicle.
-
The SAG vehicle will stay with the group until the
end of
the ride.
-
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED, Mirrors
recommended.
(Thanks to Joy Mains, Highbee Ride Leader, for the following plagiarized verbiage.
Hope
to see you and your group on this ride with
us.)
-
We obey all laws that pertain to us as bicyclists.
-
We DO NOT shout "clear" at
intersections.
-
Riders should be able to change a flat tire, and
they
must carry a minimum of a spare tube and a patch kit on each
ride.
