I've been drafted (or asked, or I volunteered) to lead an off-road ride on the gentle trails within O'Leno State Park at this Saturday's annual Chilly Chili picnic.

The trails in the park that we'll be on are mostly jeep trail, but there is one interesting, but easy peasy, chunk of singletrack in there. We'll also get to ride on a stretch of the old Bellamy Road, the first federal highway constructed in the state of Florida. And we'll squeeze in a geology lesson too. The GPS said last year that the ride is 7.8 miles (http://www.flickr.com/photos/cell911/3223496361/in/set-72157612909456957/). I'm out of shape and the weather promises that I should also be asthmatic too so there's not a soul in the club that shouldn't be able to keep up with me.

We'll meet in the parking lot at the park around 9:30 and start by 10:00. We should be back in plenty of time for the food.

The Emeril Legasse chili recipe I've brought the past few years will not be making an appearance this year. You'll have to settle for banana pudding since I've had a request for that.
