Special Note Concerning Future High Bee Rides Posted By Me

In an effort to keep to everyone happy about High Bees rides posted by me, kindly understand that those riding with us rightfully expect that the rides will be maintained at a 16-17 mph pace.  Therefore, in all of my future online GCC ride postings, please expect to see this reminder.  Further, I will ask those present before the ride starts if they anticipate riding in excess of the 16-17 mph pace.  For those that do, kindly plan to leave just before the main group does.  Those of us remaining will start and maintain our ride at the posted 16-17 mph pace.  Thank you for your understanding.

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, October 12th

Time: 8:00am meeting, 8:15 departure ( Please note that rides in the near future will be meeting at 9:00am and starting at 9:15am; however last week the group that rode decided that they wanted to continue with the 8:00am meeting time for awhile in an effort to leave more of the day after the ride for other things).

Meeting Place: LeStore, on the corner of SW 34th St and Williston Road.

Route and Mileage: We’ll ride a modified version of the Island Grove- Hawthorne map (although we won’t be going to either Island Grove or Hawthorne on this ride). We’ll leave from LeStore and ride east to the GHT and take it out to CR 234 (Angle Road) and take Angle Road to Micanopy stopping at the Pearl Country Store. From there we’ll head south on US 441 to McIntosh and turn west on CR 320 to CR 329 and north to CR 234 back into Micanopy. From there well head up US 441 to Short Wacahoota Road and take it to Williston Road and turn east to head back to LeStore. I am estimating the total mileage at about 42.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16-17 MPH; a little faster based on terrain and slower on climbs. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Thanks,

Mike
