On the west side of 121 about 2 miles south of LaCrosse,  or about a mile North of the 156th ave intersection, the bike lane and road to about 2 feet past the bike lane, is covered with a layer of loose dirt, several inches thick. This is the width of a large driveway along the bike lane, 20 or 30 feet long.

 

I know some people ride this part of 121 in the evening and in the dark so watch out.

 

I think this is a product of logging operations taking place in the woods in that area which emerges on to 121 at that point.
