The Alachua County Board of Commissioners will meet this evening to discuss bicycle-relevant issues, among other things.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 PM, County Administration Building, downtown Gainesville, across from the Bo Diddley Plaza, in the Jack Durrance Auditorium, 2nd floor.

Aside from a property millage rate increase, which will likely draw many Tea Party supporters in opposition, the Board will discuss a bundled Southwest resurfacing package that includes multiple road projects in that part of town, including Tower Road.

I cannot make the meeting due to prior commitments, and I realize this is last minute, but it would be awesome if we could do what we have been doing--show up, be a voice of reason, and help the Commissioners make good decisions in the face of fierce and outspoken "Just Say No to Everything" opposition. We'll try to stay more on top of the County schedule here on out.
