Hi, Sunrise riders,

Different Sunrise riders have expressed an interest in sometimes doing a longer route ~50 miles.  Jonathon, Mike Gamble, & I did a portion of this route last weekend.  I put together quiet, scenic, mostly bike-laned roads to make this route.

I suggest riding this route going out 78th West, then north, then coming in east on 340 to 27/41. It is relatively flat...and can be done pretty fast.  If we average ~20 mph it can be done in 2h & 30-35 minutes...assuming no stops. If we leave 730 sharp from the Chevron, we'd be back by 1000-1005 am.

Several notes:
-there is a store on the east end of Poe Springs Rd/340 where it T-intersects with 27/41.  That is at mile 29.5 and could be used for a pit stop point.
-county line sprints could happen going out on 78th and to the 340-27/41 pit stop.  Also, climbing the overpass on MHopper Rd over I75 and the finish line coming in to 43rd. There are turns just past each sprint point for regrouping.
-We could shorten this loop by doing a RT from 340 and heading directly south on 27/41 to 94th, doing a LT onto 94th, doing a sprint over Chestnut Hill, then coming in the usual on 241 and Mhopper Rd...new shorter distance would be ~47-48 miles.
-Feel free to comment on this route, make changes, etc.

Depending on my daughter's dance schedule and the other things going on around here...I may post a ride for this Sunday 8 March and I will suggest this route. But, I may ride it in the middle of the day (Sat or Sun) when she is off dancing.  Hope to see all of you on the road soon...bye, Bob Howland
