Saturday, booths for the Wild Azalea Festival will be set up on
Bridge Street in front of SBA Headquarters. You need to turn right on
Wesson St., a block before the flashing light at Bridge St. Then turn left
on Wesson Ave. and look for a parking spot on the north side of the
building. Do not block the alley behind the building. There are other side
streets suitable for parking. The early birds get the closest spots. As
tempting as it is, do not park at the Florida Welcome Center. They have
specifically asked SBA not to allow cyclists to park there at anytime
...not just this weekend.
I will also be leading an official GCC Hokey Pokey ride on Sunday morning
at 9:00. It will be a little longer and a different route than Chandler's
...probably to Suwannee Springs.
The festival is only only on Saturday. They'll be taking the booths down
Sunday morning. Choose a day or the weekend and come join us. I'm
camping at Suwannee Valley. It's 1.3 miles from the clubhouse. My car
will be parked there. Seems they always have room for one more tent. If
you want to be sure, call 386-397-1667. Stephen Foster is full ...has
been for a week or more. Even though its a festival weekend, the back
roads that we will ride will still be quiet. The main roads in and out
of town have a good shoulder.
