This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, April 30th

Time: 8:00 am meeting, 8:15 am departure (This ride is being posted to start from Micanopy and ride north on US 441 to Payne’s Prairie State Preserve for the GCC May Day Picnic, then back to Micanopy following the picnic. Bring $2.00 for the entrance fee to the park if you plan to go to the picnic)

Meeting Place: Micanopy, in downtown at the west end of the street where we usually meet.  Please park in the dirt lot just after the last antique store.

Route and Mileage: We will do the Raleigh- Archer Ride without going all the way up to Rocky Point Rd and back down US 441 to Micanopy, so the total mileage should be 50 miles. We’ll stop at the picnic when returning to 441 by making a short detour north on 441 to Paines Prairie State Preserve; then riding south afterwards to the parking in Micanopy.

Pace: The HighBees riding pace is about 17-18 MPH. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.
