Less than 20 days before the MS-150 Cycle to the Shore!  Team Gainesville will be joining Team VetMed & the HighBees on Saturday.
I won't be there but I will still be on the bike in Jax riding the Folkston Loop...still working on the R12.

Have fun!

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, September 17th

Time: 7:15 am meeting, 7:30 am departure

Meeting Place: Chevron Station, on the corner of NW 43rd St and NW 53rd Ave.

Route and Mileage: We will do the Hampton Ride consisting of 60.25 miles, per GCC map with the only change being coming back all the way to NW 43rd St on NW 39th Ave and then turning north on NW 43rd Street to the Chevron. The map on MapMyRide is at: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/50405382/. We’ll plan to make two stops on this ride, given the length and the temperatures. The first one will be in Brooker and the second one in Orange Heights.

Pace: The HighBees average pace is about 18-19 MPH. Cruising pace is often a little higher for periods of time. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed. The average pace will be a little lower on longer rides like this one. We are extending the ride distance to get in better riding condition for the upcoming Gainesville Cycling Festival. The HighBees are planning to do the Horse Farm Hundred this year as opposed to the Santa Fe Century, as we did last year.  If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate as well as Team VetMed members. Those that are non-GCC members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.
