Bob, thanks for the excellent article on the Keys.
I have been on six bike tours of the Keys, from Key Largo to Key West
and back to Key Largo. If anyone would like information on the
Keys, I would be happy to share maps and ideas.
If you visit the Keys, please stop by Marty's bike shop (Marty is
interviewed in the article) on Big Pine Key. Marty is a big supporter
of bicycling and is a wonderful and funny guy.
If you like to camp, the state parks on Long Key and Bahia Honda Key
are good. The campsites on Long Key are right on the beach, 20
to 40 feet from the water.
When visiting Key West, a bicycle is perfect, since it is hard to find
a place to park a car. Most of the residents use bikes, usually beach
cruisers, to get around town.
If you
have questions, please E-mail me.
