On a random encounter with Bea Solis this past Saturday at the bike
shop, we talked about how fun it was to have the Tour de France viewing
parties at Gator's Dockside last year and how we should do it again this
year, so...
What: Tour de France Viewing Party 1
Where: Gators
Dockside, Gainesville (3842 Newberry Rd, next to the Royal Park movie
theaters)
When: Thursday July 14, 2011, 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM
This will be Stage 12 of the 2011 TdF: Cugnaux to Luz Ardiden looks to
be a crucial stage in determining the GC with a monster climb up the
Tourmalet and a mountain climb finish up Luz Ardiden! It may be that
none of the GC contenders wins the tour on this day, but many could easily
lose it with a bad performance!
It is SO fun that we also will do it all over again the
next Thursday:
What: Tour de France Viewing Party
2
Where: Gators Dockside, Gainesville
When: Thursday
July 21, 2011, 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM
This will be Stage 18 of the 2011 TdF: Pinerolo to Col du Calibier
will feature 3 Hors Categorie climbs with yet another mountain top finish.
The finish on the Galibier will set a new record for the highest
stage finish EVER at the tour! If the GC is still close at this
point, only the strong will survive and climb to possible victory on this
day!
If you think you'll come out, please send me a private
e-mail (off-list to
markieou@xxxxxxxxx)
so I can get an approximate headcount! Feel free to invite your
significant others, loved ones, friends, and enemies to join in on the
fun!
keep the rubber side
down,
--mark.
