![]() A gazebo welcomes cyclists to take a break along the
Withlacoochee Trail
Saturday February 3, Strays will cycle the
middle
portion of the Withlacoochee Rail Trail (the most scenic
portion)
between Inverness (Lake Henderson Trestle) and Nobleton (intersection of
476)
for a 32 - 35 mile ride. We may also ride some
pleasant
shaded side roads,as an alternative to the trail on the way back, if
traffic is
light. We will likely stop at any sights of interest, visit trail bike
shops,
and take pictures of flowers, scenery and animals.
Arrive at the Inverness Trail Headquarters parking lot in
Inverness at
10 am for a 10:15 departure.
Speeds 2.5 - 46 mph, depending on terrain.
Average speed has typically been 13 -
14 mph in recent times for the Strays. This ride is
quite
flat.
Post ride the hungry will head to a local restaurant,
probably Angelo's Pizzeria in Inverness.
No pacelines, no racing, no wheel sucking, just a fun social
ride.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides,
mirrors recommended, headphones
forbidden.
Safety protocols are always observed
on
Strays rides
