Hi.

I am thinking about getting a Garmin 705 and was hoping everyone who had one would tell me if it is worth the money. Alternatively I can use my iPhone to do much of what the Garmin does. What I am interested in is whether it can plan a route that is pretty good for the bike versus car. I want to try to map an Olympic Peninsula trip in Washington State next summer taking the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island and then around through Port Townsend, Forks, etc. back to Seattle. I know the SIR group has done this in the past, but I do not know the roads well enough to plan a safe trip unless I have some help. Thought the Garmin might help set up a safe trip on reasonable roads.

So, Garmin and ROPE (Ride Olympic Peninsula Event) suggestions would be welcome.
