Strays ride south on the Feagle road. Photo by Craig Lee

Saturday May 27, Strays will ride 32 of the most scenic miles of the Santa Fe Century. This will include the Feagle roads. This portion is never seen by people who do the 55 mile ride, or the Millhopper Ramble, and is the very best of the entire Santa Fe Century. This is a repeat of the ride Strays did on November 19, 2005, but we may add a little variation from that ride.

Meet at 8:15 am for an 8:30 am start.

Ride speed 6-28 mph depending on terrain. Typical average speed for Strays in recent times has been 13 - 14 mph. There are some decent hills on this ride, but mostly its flat.

Park in Myrtis (Watermelon Park area). This will be at the corner of the convenience store parking lot at the intersection of US 441 - 41 and county road 240. Park in the grassy area in the SW corner of the
intersection near the light.
This way we will not interfere with the business at the convenience store.

At the mid point of the ride, there will be a visit to Kelly's horse farm  for a  water / restroom break. Bring your own mid-ride snacks.

After the ride the hungry will head to Floyd's Diner in High Springs for lunch if the weather is suitable for eating outside, otherwise we will probably go to Conestogas in Alachua. Other suggestions for good restaurants always considered.

Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides, mirrors recommended, headphones forbidden.
