Saddle Tramps will ride Wednesday, April
6th,
from Powers Park on
Hawthorne Road @ Newnans Lake boat launch, which is 4 miles from the
intersection of East University and Hawthorne Road. Meet there
at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. departure. There is no
chance of rain, although temperatures are predicted to be in the 40's
earlier. By departure time it should be in the 60's warming to the
70's by ride's end.
We'll head to C.R. 325 south, via C.R. 346 over the River
Styx, to the Evinston old
Post
Office, and on to Orange Lake @ Boardman. There are plenty of birds
to see on this scenic route, with bald eagles usually visible. Our
return will be through Micanopy where we'll have a rest stop, then head up
C.R. 234 to the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail and back where we
started. Approximately 34
miles.
